We are currently working with Community members in Gongo village who are involved in production of charcoal to realize a chicken project that will help them shift from making charcoal to farming chicken.
This paradigm strikes us as a great alternative for directly engaging Community members in Conservation. Charcoal producers in the village have expressed their willingness to stop cutting trees for charcoal if they can be empowered with skills, knowledge and capacity to start farming chickens and selling eggs.
An association is being formed with clear terms that requires members to become environmental ambassadors who will undergo environmental training under SANA, educate their neighbors and pledge to protect the environment.
Now you can save a tree from simply supporting this initiative, get in touch with us and let's save our trees, one tree at a time!
